Hong Kong Nutrition Association Ltd. is a society of nutrition professionals incorporated in Hong Kong. Full members are qualified dietitians and nutritionists recognized by the Association. Associate members are those with a degree or diploma in food science, catering management, home economics or medicine. We are also open to students currently enrolled in a dietetic / nutrition programs in an accredited institution.

Aims

1. To promote "Optimal Nutrition for Better Health" based on evidence-based scientific knowledge to the people of Hong Kong.
2. To conduct nutrition programs and research, and public education projects in partnership with governmental and non-governmental organizations.
3. To disseminate unique nutritional information to interpret and clarify nutritional controversies based on currently available scientific evidence or consensus.
4. To undertake scientific research on links between food, diet and health.
5. To facilitate academic and internship programs for training dietitians and nutritionists in Hong Kong.
6. To network Hong Kong and international dietitians and nutritionists to facilitate updating and exchange of professional knowledge and skills.
7. To promote national and international scientific exchange, training and education on issues of nutrition and health.

History

The former Hong Kong Nutrition Association was a registered professional learned society established in 1980 by a group of dietitians and nutritionists. In 1994, Hong Kong Nutrition Association Ltd., a charitable society of public character, was incorporated to took over the business of the former Hong Kong Nutrition Association.
